Roof Started!

Crew is continuing on framing after being offsite for a couple of days.  It's exciting to see things taking shape.  We are selecting exterior paint, shingle & window trim colors this week...decisions, decisions! Why is this so much harder to do for yourself!!!

It is so fun to come home and see how much these guys can accomplish in a day!  Cruising right along with framing...

Despite the rain this week, the crew started framing. It is fun to see things starting to go vertical!  We had some siding we pulled off that indicated we might have termites, but luckily it was just rotted wood & a little evidence of some carpenter ants from a long time ago.

Joists are in place for the new 1st floor and they put the subfloor down on Thursday.  Trying to make sure we get the remaining water from the rain out of the basement and get everything else dried out.

 

While I was out of town on Friday, the crew backfilled around the foundation and leveled out everything around the house.  Unfortunately, we don't have a path anywhere out of our house that isn't mud right now due to the rain last night & today!  Oh well, part of it I guess!!! 

Next week they will start framing which will be great!!!
